WAYS OF MAINTAINING AND IMROVING FOOD SECURITY IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION IN CONDITIONS OF WORLD ECONOMY GLOBALIZATION

Background. Food security of the state is an important component of its national security. Its maintenance and increase in conditions of world economy globalization is a complex challenge for any individual state. The problem of food security maintenance is particularly acute in recent years for Russia as it has joined WTO. It also defines relevance of the subject of the research with its purpose being the search of ways of maintaining and improving food security of the Russian Federation in modern conditions.
Materials and methods. Among the research methods it is necessary to underline the system analysis of the problem of maintaining and improving food security of the state within the global processes and, in particular, the changes taking place in the world economy. In the study of the problem the evolutionary method is of special importance as it confirms the multilevelness, uniqueness, nonlinearity and irreversibility of the processes of economic changes. Application of the evolutionary approach in the research defines the need of using a monographic method. The first complex work, devoted to the subject matter, is considered to be the monograph by Yu. Khromov, which analyzes the international aspects of food security.
Results. The article considers the problem of maintenance and prospective improvement of food security in Russia as the country has entered the World Trade Organization. In article describes the real threats for domestic economy due to entering the WTO, which Russian is about to encounter. At the same time, the emphasis is placed on possible prospects of the country on delivery of food to the foreign market based on aggravation of the global food problem.
Conclusions. The research, conducted in the field of the state’s food safety provision, showed that the economy of Russia undergoes serious changes which generate new problems and aggravate the old. In order to solve the problem of food security of the country it is necessary to develop a package of measures of economic, legal and social character, some of which are presented in the present article. Thus, the special attention has to be paid to development of the system of actions for protection of domestic producers in the agrarian sector of the economy.
